The topic of the 2007 symposium was the use of alternative dispute resolution strategies in end of life decisions. The 2005 Terri Schiavo case brought national attention to both the moral and legal struggles surrounding end of life decisions. A distinguished panel of scholars will be invited to discuss this emerging topic. The panel will explore the challenges of using dispute resolution techniques to help resolve health care conflicts that affect families in crisis as well as legal and medical professionals.
